Basic websites, customized WordPress sites and blogs, e-newsletter and e-book designs, graphics and backgrounds for Internet advertising, social media setup, design and management. I’ll help you build a coordinated online presence.
Most website designers take the approach of Ray Kinsella in Shoeless Joe: “If you build it, he will come.” But most businesses need more than a beautiful website to attract customers. As more of America’s day-to-day conversation moves online, businesses need to build coordinated campaigns that embrace all forms of online communication.
My background in web communications is wide and varied, thanks in large part to my work for school districts. Need a basic website or WordPress blog? I can do that. Want an e-newsletter? Got it. Social media setup, design and management? No problem.
When it comes to technology, K-12 education organizations are notoriously challenged, both by budget and by staff time. Districts in Washington and Oregon use a wide variety of web content managers and e-mail platforms to communicate with parents. In the last two years, many have adopted social media strategies — some more successful than others.
Whether I am working with a district through ESD 112 or with one of my own clients, my approach is to start from scratch:
- What audience are we trying to reach online?
- What sites do they visit regularly?
- Once we get them to your website, how do we keep them coming back? In other words, how can we keep the conversation going?
From there, we can begin to discuss the specific strategies that will help your business reach customers online.
