My name is M!ke

For me, it’s not just about connecting with the client. It’s about connecting my clients with their target market. It’s this distinction upon which I’ve built my career. Others may give you what you want, but I’ll work with you to discover what your audience wants. When they’re happy, your business thrives. Simple as that.

A little about my background:

A graduate of the magazine journalism program at the University of Missouri-Columbia, I have more than a decade of publication and strategic communications experience. I began my career in magazines — first as a writer-editor-designer of Alternative Family Magazine and then as the art director of Instinct Magazine.

As the son of teachers, I have found deep satisfaction working in education. As the art director of the Missouri State Teachers Association, I helped reinvigorate a brand that has been evolving for more than 150 years. During my time at Educational Service District 112, I help school districts in Southwest Washington through comprehensive communications services, from design and writing to management of social media. My years in education have cemented my ability to understand a variety of audiences. Whether communicating with kindergartners, teachers, school boards or parents, the tactics are always the same — connect and inspire.

In my work at Mike Watters Design, I use my abilities to connect clients with an audience at a fundamental level, tapping into what inspires them. And it isn’t just about inspiring the audience, it’s about inspiring the client, too. Because, when everyone’s at their best, great things happen.
